Job Description
Pharmacy Floor Technician
Contract-to-Hire | 40 Hours/Week
We are seeking a Pharmacy Floor Technician to support daily prescription fulfillment in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. This role is responsible for accurately picking, labeling, scanning, packaging, and preparing prescriptions for final pharmacist verification.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week — five 8-hour shifts
- Monday–Friday: 12:00 PM–8:30 PM
- Saturday–Sunday: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Includes 2–3 weekends per month
- Overtime, holidays, and additional weekend hours may be required
Rate: $20/hr
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately fill and process daily medication orders under pharmacist supervision
- Pick medications from shelves and designated storage areas
- Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy
- Package medications and materials for dispensing
- Prepack frequently ordered medications as needed
- Process returned medications according to department procedures
- Maintain workstations and replenish pharmacy supplies
- Report scanning or product issues to the pharmacist
- Follow HIPAA, safety, attendance, and departmental policies
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Active, clear Texas Pharmacy Technician License
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to work efficiently at a moderate pace
- Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive hand/finger movements throughout the workday. May occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. and work extended hours as needed.
