We are seeking an experienced Parts Outside Sales Representative to develop, maintain, and grow customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role will focus on increasing parts sales through proactive customer engagement, regular field visits, account management, and consistent follow-up on quotes, orders, and service needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong sales and relationship-building skills, along with experience in heavy-duty truck parts, automotive parts, equipment parts, or a related industry. This position will play an important role in expanding the customer base, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting the overall profitability of the Parts Department.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentDevelop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through regular in-person visits, phone calls, and follow-ups.
Prospect and develop new customer accounts within the assigned territory.
Promote heavy-duty truck parts, products, programs, and related services.
Prepare quotes, negotiate pricing, and follow up on opportunities to close sales.
Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate parts and product solutions.
Develop strategies to increase sales and expand market share within the assigned territory.
Manage the assigned territory through structured customer visits and sales activities.
Develop territory growth plans and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
Monitor customer purchasing trends, competitor activity, and market opportunities.
Maintain accurate CRM records, call reports, and customer activity updates.
Build long-term relationships with key customers and identify opportunities for account growth.
Process customer orders accurately and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely fulfillment.
Assist customers with parts availability, delivery coordination, returns, credits, and warranty-related matters.
Resolve customer concerns promptly while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Coordinate with the Parts Department and other internal teams to meet customer requirements.
Provide additional parts delivery and customer support when needed.
High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
Prior outside sales, territory sales, or customer relationship management experience preferred.
2+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck parts, automotive parts, equipment parts, or a related industry preferred.
Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to understand technical documents, parts catalogs, and product information.
Basic math skills, including pricing, discounts, and margins.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently.
Proficiency with computers, email, spreadsheets, CRM systems, and other sales tools.
Primarily field-based position with frequent customer visits.
Extensive driving throughout the assigned territory is required.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds when necessary.
