Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A skilled pharmacist opportunity is available in a Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy environment. This role offers a 2nd shift schedule from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating shifts every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM). The position is a 26-week contract-to-hire assignment located in Kingston, PA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage.
  • Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation diligently.
  • Provide expert advice to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and answer their inquiries.
  • Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, covering storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
  • Deliver patient services including smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Prepare compounded medications, including sterile solutions, following established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Pennsylvania pharmacy license.
  • Experience with Long Term Care pharmacy preferred.
  • Mail order pharmacy experience is advantageous.
  • Skilled in sterile compounding is a plus.
