Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A pharmacist position is available in a long-term care and mail order pharmacy setting. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers rotating 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with hours varying between 6:30 am and 11:00 pm, including every third weekend. The role is based in Grove City, OH, and requires a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and legally.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
- Ensure prescribed medications are suitable and maintain compliance with regulations.
- Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy files efficiently.
- Advise patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer related questions.
- Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
- Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
- Maintain pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
- Identify drug-related problems and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- Experience in long-term care or mail order pharmacy preferred.
- Experience with sterile compounding is a plus.
- Current Ohio pharmacy license required.
