Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This pharmacist role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to patient care in a Long Term Care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy environment. The position is a contract to hire with a 26-week duration and focuses on mid-shift hours from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend shifts every third Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and overuse to ensure legal and safe supply limits.
- Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
- Maintain confidential and precise patient and pharmacy records.
- Provide expert guidance to patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer their questions.
- Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications regarding storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
- Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications, including sterile preparations, following established procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems effectively with physicians and healthcare team members.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy is highly regarded.
- Mail order pharmacy experience is beneficial.
- Proficiency in sterile compounding is a valuable asset.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.

- Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM
