Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 14-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing diagnoses including CHF, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
- Titrate drips including analgesics for pain management, anticoagulants for blood clot treatment, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control
- Independently read and interpret telemetry strips and escalate concerns to a physician as appropriate, as no telemetry or monitor technicians are assigned to the unit
- Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators
- Participate in charge nurse assignments, floating as determined by nurse manager and departmental needs, and fulfill weekend and holiday scheduling requirements
- Complete unit/department-specific orientation; clinicians are expected to be on-site in state during the full week of orientation
- Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Ability to independently read telemetry strips and recognize concerning rhythms requiring physician escalation
- Comfort with titrating drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
- Prior experience working in a rural hospital setting, with an understanding of operating with lower resource availability while managing typically lower patient volumes
- Familiarity with respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and mechanical ventilators
- Experience with self-scheduling and block scheduling models
