Location

Turtle Lake, ND | Critical Access Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Shifts | Days and Nights Available (0645–1915 / 1845–0715) | Every Other Weekend Required | Alternating Holiday Coverage | No Call or Standby Requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across the ER, MedSurg, and Swing Bed unit serving a primarily geriatric population with diagnoses including dementia, diabetes, stroke, wounds, and exacerbation of chronic illnesses
• Deliver initial care for trauma patients presenting to the ER and support post-acute rehab and restorative care patients
• Titrate drips including electrolytes, hypertensive medications, IV antibiotics, and blood transfusions; administer IV medications, fluids, and blood products
• Read and independently interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Practice within a team nursing model under a Charge Nurse present on each shift; float between ER and MedSurg as needed
• Manage patient-controlled CPAP equipment and perform basic troubleshooting as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Candidates currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity are not eligible
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and may not exceed 7 days per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with geriatric patient care, including dementia, stroke, and skin/wound care
• Familiarity with team nursing models in a rural or critical access hospital setting
• Comfort working across multiple units in a small-hospital environment
