CNC Lathe Machinist ($28-32/hr)

A well-established manufacturing company in Elgin, IL is looking to add an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to its 1st-shift team. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for a machinist who is comfortable setting up and operating CNC turning equipment while producing precision components to print.

• Set up and operate CNC lathes/turning centers for production.

• Perform machine setups, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and program adjustments.

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

• Make necessary offset and tooling adjustments to maintain part quality and tolerances.

• Monitor machining processes and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

• Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.

• Follow all company safety and quality procedures.

• Previous CNC lathe or CNC turning experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Hands-on CNC machine setup experience strongly preferred.

• Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances.

• Experience using precision inspection and measuring equipment.

• Comfortable making offsets, tool changes, and basic program adjustments.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

• Able to work independently while maintaining production and quality standards.

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday

• $28–$32/hour
