HSE Representative

Location: Vernon, CA
Job Type: Long-Term Contract
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay: $100,000–$120,000/year, paid hourly
Duration: 12+ months with potential for extension/conversion

Position Overview
We are seeking an HSE Site Representative to support daily Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance at a manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role focused on safety programs, OSHA compliance, audits, incident investigations, and identifying and correcting workplace hazards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain site HSE programs and ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct safety and environmental audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Oversee PPE, LOTO, industrial hygiene, fire prevention, and workplace safety programs.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses and identify methods to eliminate or control workplace hazards.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor equipment, processes, and work areas for safety and compliance issues.
  • Support injury reporting, workers' compensation, and return-to-work processes.
  • Provide safety training and support employee HSE education.
  • Maintain environmental reports, permits, and required documentation.
  • Update SOPs, work instructions, and HSE procedures.
  • Work closely with employees, leadership, operations, and union personnel to promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of HSE, EHS, safety, or related experience; more experience is preferred.
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety programs.
  • Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to occasionally flex hours to support other shifts or business needs.
