Location: University Park, IL | Type: Direct Hire | Pay: $31.70/hr

What you’ll tackle

• Own reliability for production assets: perform preventive, corrective, scheduled, minor, and emergency maintenance on machinery and facility systems.
• Use schematics (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical), blueprints, and technical manuals to isolate faults quickly.
• Apply precision measuring tools and electronic test equipment to diagnose issues to component level.
• Install/terminate power-supply wiring and integrate interconnecting cables between systems.
• Service electrical components—transformers, motors, lighting—replacing defective wires, cables, and parts.
• Troubleshoot and replace electronic assemblies and PCBs as needed.
• Monitor machines in operation; detect issues by performance trends and abnormal sounds.
• Teardown, repair, and rebuild mechanical systems to restore OEM specifications.
• Inspect components for dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
• Partner with operators and fellow techs; coordinate with outside vendors as a point of contact.
• Set up equipment, dial in adjustments, and verify throughput and efficiency.

Schedule

• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
• Overtime available as required

Must-haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 2+ years of industrial/electrical/electromechanical maintenance in a manufacturing setting
• Demonstrated capability across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems—install, diagnose, repair, and maintain
• Fluency reading wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
• Hands-on knowledge: motors, transformers, power supplies, control panels, wiring, lighting, sensors, relays, PLC-controlled systems, and core electronics
• Experience with preventive, scheduled, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production and building equipment
• Mechanical rebuild skills: motors, bearings, belts, chains, gears, shafts, electrical components
• Strong safety mindset: LOTO, guarding, PPE, electrical safety, and proper material handling
• Ability to work autonomously and support operators, supervisors, contractors, and vendors
• Clear communication, documentation, vendor coordination, and prioritization skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced plant with changing priorities

Compensation & Benefits

• $31.70/hour, paid weekly
