Job Description

CDR ProSource is seeking an experienced and highly skilled CNC Machinist II to join a manufacturing team in Three Rivers, MI. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on CNC machining experience, including programming, setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC mills and lathes. This position requires strong blueprint reading, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to independently produce precision-machined parts according to customer and quality specifications. Experience with Okuma machinery, Mastercam, SolidWorks, and multi-axis machining is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision-machined parts.
Work with Okuma CNC machinery and other CNC machine tools.
Utilize Mastercam and SolidWorks to support machining and programming processes.
Perform tool change-outs, offsets, adjustments, and CNC programming as required.
Review work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, specifications, and technical drawings before machining.
Read and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
Program mills and lathes by establishing zero/reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and machining parameters.
Apply mathematics, geometry, and basic trigonometry to machining and programming processes.
Set up mills and lathes using chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, and other required components.
Verify machine settings and inspect first-run parts and sample workpieces for accuracy.
Monitor machining operations and take measurements to ensure parts meet customer and company specifications.
Identify machining or programming issues and perform troubleshooting, adjustments, and reprogramming as needed.
Replace worn tools and make necessary adjustments to maintain production quality.
Work with various materials and understand how different materials respond to machining processes.
Build fixtures and tooling and develop machining programs independently.
Complete required production and quality documentation.
Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
Communicate production issues, irregularities, and ongoing needs between shifts.
Follow all company safety, production, and quality procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience required.
Strong experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes.
Experience with Okuma CNC machinery strongly preferred.
Experience with Mastercam and SolidWorks preferred.
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T.
Experience performing tool changes, offsets, machine adjustments, and CNC programming.
Ability to work with a variety of materials and understand their machining characteristics.
Experience with multi-axis CNC machining; 5+ axis experience is a plus.
Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to independently build fixtures, tooling, and develop programs.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
Aerospace machining experience is a plus.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and production standards.
