Forklift Operator (1ST)

Responsibilities

• Safely operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and other material handling equipment to load and unload shipments.
• Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning, and manual counting to ensure accuracy.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment with precision, adhering to safety standards in production and warehouse operations.
• Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment such as lift trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts to maintain optimal performance.
• Follow OSHA safety protocols and warehouse safety standards diligently during all materials handling activities.
• Assist with shipping & receiving processes by verifying inbound/outbound shipments and maintaining detailed logs.
• Support warehouse distribution efforts by organizing stock locations, managing heavy lifting tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts and related equipment such as reach trucks, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks in a warehouse setting.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory management techniques.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following manual handling procedures.
• Familiarity with forklift safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and safety standards in production environments.
• Basic math skills for counting inventory and verifying shipment quantities accurately.
• Strong understanding of materials handling equipment operation including lift trucks, load & unload procedures, and heavy equipment operation.
• Warehouse experience with order picking, shipping & receiving tasks, and warehouse distribution processes is highly preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
