Job Description
The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a leading healthcare organization in Russellville, AL, to recruit a skilled and patient-focused Respiratory Therapist.
Reporting to the Director of Respiratory Therapy, you will provide respiratory care to patients across all age groups, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, conducting clinical assessments, and supporting patient respiratory health. Working closely with physicians and the healthcare team, you will help ensure safe, effective, and timely patient care
Schedule: PRN | Days | Nights
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory assessments, pulse oximetry, aerosol therapy, EKGs, and arterial and capillary blood gas sampling
- Initiate, monitor, and adjust mechanical ventilation
- Provide emergency respiratory interventions, including CPR
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on respiratory equipment
- Document patient care and procedures accurately
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and adequate department supplies
- Assist with onboarding and training new staff
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives, required training, and department meetings
- Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate patient care
- Participate in on-call coverage and assist during high census or staffing shortages
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), or eligibility to obtain credentialing
- Eligible candidates must obtain full credentialing within 24 months
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- 6+ months of hospital-based respiratory therapy experience
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, lift, and operate respiratory equipment
- Moderate physical demands in a hospital environment
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other clinical hazards
