CNC LASER OPERATOR / LASER MACHINE OPERATOR

Monday - Friday, mandatory Saturdays as needed

6:00. am - 2:30 pm/3:30 pm

$18.00 - $24.00 DOE

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Machine Operation: Operate CNC laser-cutting machines (such as Amada or Mazak systems) and related production equipment.
Setup & Adjustments: Select and set up lenses and nozzles based on material type and thickness, load programs, and adjust machine parameters.
Material Handling: Load carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other sheet materials into the machine or automated storage systems.
Programming & Nesting: Run machine programs and utilize nesting software (such as Radan) to optimize material usage.
Quality Control: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications; inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
Maintenance & Safety: Monitor shield gases and bulk tank systems, respond to machine alarms, perform routine cleaning/preventive maintenance, and maintain a clean work area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience: 1+ to 2+ years of experience operating CNC laser-cutting machines or heavy metal-fabrication equipment preferred.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with sheet metal properties, material thicknesses, blueprints, and precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications or trade school training in CNC/laser operations is a plus).
