Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Initial intake for clinic visits including taking vitals, med rec, documenting medical history and other necessary information, as well as scribing for provider when needed
• Assisting with procedures including prepping patient and preparing supplies
• Lab draws including venipuncture and ensuring proper requisitions and preparation for lab
• Assist with IVs
• Assist with prescription refills
• Light clerical duties as needed: handling clinical phone inquiries, scanning, posting payments
• Insurance authorizations for medications & DME as needed
• Assisting in ordering medical and office supplies as well as updating inventory as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Appropriate certifications and licensures or equivelent experience
• Proficient in medical terminology and EMR systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to patient care and compassion
• Works well within a team
