Job Summary

Client is seeking a Quality Inspector to inspect materials and finished products and ensure they meet customer specifications and quality standards. The Quality Inspector will support production by identifying quality issues, accurately recording inspection results, and recommending process adjustments when needed.


Important: The first couple of weeks will be on the 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM shift.


Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and measure materials and finished products.
  • Accurately record inspection and test results.
  • Use various inspection tools and equipment, including:
    • Calipers
    • Rulers
    • Gauges
    • CMM
    • Thread gauges
    • Gauge pins
    • Optical comparator
    • Surface testers
    • Height gauges
    • Micrometers
  • Accept or reject finished products based on specifications.
  • Tag and identify products or materials that do not meet requirements.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and written instructions.
  • Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Recommend adjustments to assembly or production processes to improve quality.
  • Calibrate or verify inspection and testing instruments.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Follow all safety procedures and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Work with multiple departments to resolve quality issues.
  • Work overtime and weekends as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of quality inspection experience using common hand gauges or equivalent inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of computers and electronics.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to calibrate or verify test instruments and maintain detailed records.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to understand and apply GD&T.


Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience programming and operating a DCC CMM.
  • Working knowledge of quality standards.
  • ASQ certification is a plus.
  • Experience in automotive or manufacturing quality inspection is a plus.
