Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is suited for experienced pharmacists with a background in retail pharmacy operations and immunizations. Scheduled for two days each week, this role offers a 20-hour workweek on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including a 30-minute lunch break during 10-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct pharmacy technicians and staff pharmacists to ensure smooth daily operations
- Verify prescriptions, dispense medications, and ensure safe, accurate medication distribution
- Manage retail pharmacy inventory, medication stock, and formulary compliance
- Maintain adherence to controlled substance handling and documentation regulations
- Oversee 340B program administration and compliance
- Manage pharmacy billing, claims submission, and reconciliation processes
- Utilize and maintain accuracy within electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy systems, with training provided
- Support operational workflows and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Administer immunizations according to state and federal guidelines
Qualifications:
- Active and clear West Virginia pharmacist license
- Prior experience with Pioneer pharmacy operations preferred
- Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy; PharmD preferred but not mandatory
- Current CPR certification and active immunization certification
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication and customer service focus
