Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong understanding of debits and credits, hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, month end close and a solid foundation in general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities

• Record and post accurate journal entries
• Perform bank, account, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close, including account analysis and preparation of journal entries
• Maintain accurate and organized general ledger accounts
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances
• Assist with maintaining supporting documentation for financial transactions
• Review transactions for accuracy and proper account classification
• Support the accounting team with various reporting and analysis projects
• Assist with other accounting functions and special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 4-5+ years of hands-on accounting experience
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, and fundamental accounting principles
• Experience preparing and posting journal entries
• Experience performing account reconciliations
• Exposure to month-end close procedures
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
