Job Description

This full-time contract opportunity offers you the chance to empower 24 students with visual impairments, guiding them to succeed both academically and personally.
In this engaging environment, you’ll collaborate with general education teachers and specialized professionals, advocating for every student’s unique needs. Your day will span from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, providing a structured but rewarding routine that allows you to truly connect with each learner.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Active state teaching certification for Visually Impaired students
- Proven experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Strong understanding of Braille and assistive technology
- Ability to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for partnering with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated patience, flexibility, and creativity in addressing diverse learning styles
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with visual impairments in both group and individual settings
- Utilize specialized materials, including Braille, large print, and digital resources
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting methods to best support learning
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure accessibility within the curriculum
- Provide guidance and training to staff and families regarding best practices and assistive technology
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students can thrive
