We are looking for a Compensation & Benefits Specialist to support employee benefits administration for a part-time contract opportunity with potential for a permanent position based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. This position focuses on delivering accurate, responsive support across benefit enrollments, billing, record maintenance, and employee guidance. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in benefits operations, works comfortably with detailed data, and can collaborate effectively with payroll, accounting, and employees throughout the benefits lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
• Manage daily administration of employee benefit programs, including enrollments, status changes, terminations, and ongoing plan updates.
• Coordinate with accounting during biweekly payroll cycles to review and confirm benefits-related information for accurate deductions and processing.
• Audit carrier invoices, reconcile discrepancies, and submit approved billing to help ensure timely and correct payment.
• Maintain organized employee census data, tracking files, and reporting documentation using detailed spreadsheets and internal records.
• Conduct benefit orientation meetings for new team members, explain available plans, and assist employees with enrollment selections and questions.
• Support administration tied to leave and continuation benefits, including FMLA, COBRA, and cases involving varying state-specific leave requirements.
• Contribute to planning and execution for annual open enrollment activities, especially for calendar-year benefit renewals.
• Use Paycom to update employee information, process benefits-related changes, and maintain accurate documentation within the system.• 5+ years of experience in compensation and benefits, benefits administration, or a closely related HR specialty.
• Demonstrated knowledge of employee benefit programs, enrollments, billing reconciliation, and benefits recordkeeping.
• Experience supporting leave administration, including FMLA, COBRA, and multi-state compliance considerations.
• Proficiency with Paycom for benefits processing, employee data maintenance, and reporting tasks.
• Strong spreadsheet and data management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate benefit information clearly to employees and provide effective day-to-day support.
• Comfortable partnering with payroll or accounting teams to validate benefits data tied to payroll processing.
