Clinical Assistant
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Openings Available In: Monroeville, Bethel Park, and Cranberry Township
Schedule: Monday - Friday | Day Shift | Full-Time
Pay: Based on skillset + experience
We are currently hiring for any Clinical Assistants, Medical Assistants, Ophthalmic Technicians, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and other clinical healthcare professionals to join a growing ophthalmology practice with multiple locations throughout the Pittsburgh area.
Whether you have experience as a Medical Assistant, PCT, Ophthalmic Technician, or in another hands-on clinical role, we'd love to speak with you!
Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for provider evaluations.
- Document chief complaints, medical history, medications, and ocular findings in the electronic health record.
- Perform pre-exam testing, including visual acuity, tonometry, pupil dilation, and other ophthalmic testing as directed.
- Assist physicians during procedures, including preparing for intravitreal injections and documenting medication information in the EHR.
- Clean and prepare surgical instruments for sterile processing.
- Monitor and maintain clinical supply inventory.
- Assist with maintaining and calibrating exam equipment.
- Prepare exam and procedure rooms for daily patient care.
- Support ophthalmic photography and additional clinical duties as trained.
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care while ensuring an efficient clinic flow.
Qualifications
- Previous clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Ophthalmic Technician, Patient Care Technician (PCT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), EMT, or other direct patient care role preferred.
- Experience in an ophthalmology or specialty clinic is a plus but not required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic, NextGen, or similar systems) is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
