Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed telemetry unit with all private rooms, managing a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 for telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips, including basic dysrhythmia recognition; coordinate with remote monitor techs who provide hospital-wide cardiac monitoring coverage
• Administer and reconstitute medications including antibiotics; manage titrating heparin for telemetry patients using Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Perform IV placement and draw labs from central lines when ordered; utilize AccuChek glucometer for point-of-care blood glucose testing
• Collaborate with PCTs, hospitalists, respiratory therapy (available 24/7), and a unit-based pharmacist to deliver comprehensive patient care across variable diagnoses including post-catheterization, respiratory difficulty, and medical/surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Participate in shared Q2-hour rounding with support staff; floating to comparable or lower-acuity units may be required as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Valid driver's license required at time of submission
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry patient populations
• Familiarity with titrating medications and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
