Job Summary
We are seeking Parking Attendants for a temporary election support assignment in the Charleston, SC area. This role is ideal for dependable, customer-focused individuals who enjoy working with the public and supporting smooth, organized community operations.
As a Parking Attendant, you will help direct voters, election staff, and site traffic to designated parking areas while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and nonpartisan environment. This is a great opportunity to contribute to an important public event, work as part of a coordinated site team, and provide helpful assistance to community members throughout the voting process.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct voters and election staff to designated parking areas while supporting safe and efficient traffic flow.
- Assist voters with locating polling site entrances and provide general directions as needed.
- Monitor parking areas, including designated ADA parking spaces, to help ensure accessibility.
- Guide vehicle traffic during peak voting periods to minimize congestion and delays.
- Coordinate with election officials, law enforcement, and site personnel to maintain orderly operations.
- Report safety hazards, traffic incidents, or operational concerns to supervisors promptly.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $15.00 per hour.
- Schedule: 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Assignment dates: October 19 to October 24 and October 26 to October 31.
- Locations: Various Charleston-area locations, including Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, North Charleston, James Island, Downtown Charleston, Johns Island, and Hollywood.
