Driver for IDD Day Program

About the Role:
Bridge Community Development Center Mississippi is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Driver to join our IDD Day Program team in Cleveland, MS. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by providing safe, reliable transportation and a friendly face every day.

Responsibilities:

• Safely transport IDD program participants to and from the day program facility and community destinations
• Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning program vehicle at all times
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns
• Follow established routes and schedules while adapting to participant needs
• Communicate effectively with program staff regarding participant status, incidents, or concerns
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and agency policies

Requirements:

• Valid Mississippi driver's license with a clean driving record
• Experience transporting individuals with IDD, disabilities, or special needs preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Patient, compassionate, and dependable demeanor
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and secure adaptive equipment is a plus
