Fabrication Metrology Technician Your Shift, Your Impact

Picture this: you arrive in Burnet, TX, ready to kick off a 12-hour shift—either bright and early at 4:30 AM or laser-focused at 4:30 PM. You’re the person everyone counts on to validate quality in a fast-paced manufacturing and fabrication environment. With a tape measure in one hand and calipers in the other, you verify that raw materials, in-process parts, and finished goods all meet the right specs before they move forward.

  • Pay: $21.00–$24.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts
  • Day Shift: 4:30 AM–4:30 PM
  • Night Shift: 4:30 PM–4:30 AM
  • Job Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire
  • Location: Burnet, TX
What You’ll Do
  • Inspect raw materials, components, and finished products for quality and dimensional conformance.
  • Use tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, squares, and similar tools to verify dimensions.
  • Compare measurements to work orders, drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional checks throughout the production process.
  • Spot defects, incorrect measurements, and any out-of-spec conditions.
  • Record inspection findings and promptly communicate concerns to production teams.
  • Partner with machine operators, welders, production staff, and supervisors to resolve quality issues.
  • Follow established quality procedures and all safety requirements.
  • Operate in hands-on manufacturing areas, including both indoor and outdoor workspaces.
About You
  • Background in manufacturing, production, machine operation, fabrication, assembly, or quality control preferred.
  • Confident reading and accurately using a tape measure.
  • Comfortable with calipers, micrometers, gauges, or comparable instruments.
  • Experience inspecting parts/products during manufacturing is a plus.
  • Basic familiarity with work orders, drawings, blueprints, or product specifications is helpful.
  • Detail-oriented with a sharp eye for defects and out-of-tolerance measurements.
  • Ready for 12-hour shifts in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
  • Open to learning additional quality-control procedures and inspection methods.
  • Reliable and safety-minded.
