Instructional Assistant - Yreka, California

Support students’ growth and foster a positive learning environment as a paraprofessional in the beautiful Mt. Shasta region. This contract opportunity offers a rewarding chance to work closely with educators and students, providing essential assistance within a school setting. You’ll play a key role in helping students succeed, all while enjoying a steady part-time schedule of 30 hours per week during the school year.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar child-centered support role
• Comfort working with students in diverse classroom settings
• Strong communication, patience, and collaboration skills
• Ability to follow teacher directions and adapt to students’ needs
• Any relevant certifications or completion of paraprofessional assessment (preferred)

Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in classroom management and lesson implementation
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students requiring additional guidance
• Help adapt instructional materials to individual learning styles or special needs
• Supervise students during transitions, activities, and breaks
• Contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all students
