Dyslexia Special Education Teacher | Converse, Texas

Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and adapt curriculum for EC-6th grade students in self-contained and life skills special education classrooms.
• Serve as a generalist and special education teacher, addressing diverse learning needs and creating inclusive, supportive environments.
• Manage caseload and documentation for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• For the dyslexia case management role, provide targeted reading interventions across two elementary campuses, employing evidence-based strategies to support literacy skill development.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to promote student success and progress.
• Monitor, assess, and report student growth, modifying interventions as needed.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (all levels) for Texas, with EC-6 endorsement.
• Experience working in both generalist and specialized SPED environments.
• Extensive knowledge of IEP implementation and life skills programming.
• Demonstrated expertise in reading intervention and dyslexia strategies.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
