Job Title: Material Handler / Kitting Specialist text warehouse to 8 4 7 5 8 0 2 8 1 4

Job Description

This role combines material handling, shipping and receiving, and inventory control within a modern manufacturing warehouse. You will manage valuable and potentially fragile raw materials, as well as large finished electrical panels ready for delivery. The position focuses on safe forklift operation, accurate inventory transactions, and timely kitting of materials for specific customer jobs, all within a productive environment that emphasizes organization and meeting deadlines over high quotas.

Responsibilities

  • Handle raw materials and finished products with care, ensuring cautious and safe movement of valuable and potentially fragile items.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to move larger electrical control boxes and panels, maintaining slow and controlled operation to protect products and ensure safety.
  • Use RF scanners and basic computer systems to track, locate, and transact inventory movements accurately.
  • Lift, move, and place boxes and materials into assigned warehouse locations, maintaining proper storage and organization.
  • Process incoming materials by confirming part numbers and quantities against purchase orders and shipping documents.
  • Stage materials in designated inventory locations to support efficient production and shipping workflows.
  • Pull and identify parts from inventory based on bills of material and job requirements.
  • Accurately kit specified materials and raw components for customer-specific jobs and deliver these kits to the appropriate production lines or external suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Read and interpret bills of material, pull stock, and accurately record material movements in the electronic inventory tracking system.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and help maintain accurate inventory records within the business systems.
  • Support loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring safe handling of all materials and products.
  • Maintain the warehouse in a clean, safe, and organized manner, following established housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Demonstrate strong integrity and ethics in daily work, aligning with the organizations mission, values, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, contributing to an inclusive, cooperative, and productive workplace.
  • Manage time and resources efficiently to meet deadlines and production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in material handling, inventory processes, and warehouse organization, and participate in implementing better ways of working.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues across fabrication, welding, wiring, and assembly to support smooth production flow.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator in a manufacturing warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency operating a sit-down forklift in tight or complex spaces with large, irregularly shaped loads.
  • Hands-on experience with material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving pallets and boxes.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for inventory tracking and verification.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, inventory transactions, and working within electronic inventory systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying part numbers and counts against purchase orders and shipping documents.
  • Familiarity with pallet jacks and other standard warehouse material handling equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when pulling, kitting, and transacting materials.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with warehouse, production, and other facility teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and work productively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Commitment to producing quality work and maintaining safe handling practices for fragile and high-value materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Technical School education preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing warehouse is strongly preferred over distribution center environments.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices and physical inventory counting.
  • Ability to read and interpret bills of material and other production documents.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to supporting on-time delivery and high-quality output.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethics, modeling organizational vision, mission, and values.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team-oriented, inclusive environment.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address inventory, material flow, and handling issues.
  • Openness to innovation and continuous improvement, seeking new and better ways of organizing and handling materials.
