Job Description
Step into a meaningful role providing dedicated support as a school paraprofessional, working one-on-one with an elementary student onsite. You'll work at a supportive campus from 8am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours each week. This contract position runs through the end of the school year, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact in a classroom setting.
What we're seeking:
- Previous experience in schools or working closely with children, particularly those with behavioral needs
- Ability to build rapport, demonstrate patience, and adapt to various learning and behavioral styles
- Reliable attendance and a collaborative mindset
- Strong communication skills for interacting with teachers, staff, and students
- High School Diploma or GED (post-secondary coursework is a plus)
- Willingness to work exclusively onsite with a single student
Key responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to a designated elementary student throughout the school day
- Assist with classroom participation, transitions, and following routines
- Implement behavior and instructional strategies as directed by classroom teacher and support staff
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment and reinforce expectations
- Foster independence and encourage social integration
- Maintain accurate, timely records and share observations with the instructional team
- Ensure student safety and well-being at all times
