Job Description
Step into a rewarding role supporting students in a classroom setting designed for Significant Support Needs. This contract opportunity is perfect for passionate paraprofessionals eager to make a difference in middle school education. You’ll work closely with a dedicated team, providing vital assistance to a small caseload of students in grades 6-8.
Your schedule offers consistency and work-life balance, with Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:40 am to 3:50 pm, and Wednesdays from 9:40 am to 3:50 pm. The position is available immediately and runs through late May, with a weekly commitment of 35 hours.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support position in an educational setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping students with significant needs
- Ability to assist with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional learning
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce lessons and implement behavior plans
- Assist with daily classroom routines and personal care tasks as needed
- Support student independence, growth, and safety throughout the school day
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and specialists, following Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Track student progress and document observations
