Job Description
Embark on a rewarding assignment supporting a vibrant K-5 community as a School Psychologist. This full-time, contract opportunity is available immediately, providing coverage for a medical leave with strong potential to extend through the school year. Serve in a dynamic setting that includes the impactful BEST/STRIVE special education program, while collaborating closely with another psychologist dedicated to these specialized classes.
Your schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:50 AM to 2:50 PM, and Wednesday from 7:50 AM to 3:20 PM, allowing you to maintain a consistent work-life balance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification (Illinois PEL or eligibility required)
- Experience with school-based psychological services, particularly within K-5 populations
- Background supporting students in special education or behavioral programs, such as BEST/STRIVE, is highly valued
- Strong collaborative skills to partner with fellow psychologists, teachers, and staff
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct student assessments, develop recommendations, and participate in IEP meetings
- Provide on-site social-emotional and behavioral interventions
- Consult with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success
- Support school-wide initiatives related to mental health and positive behavior
- Contribute expertise to help shape a positive, inclusive school environment
