Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days | 8-hour shifts | Expected 64–80 hours per pay period | Call rotation required (approximately 1–2 days per week, every 2nd–4th weekend, rotating holidays)

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate surgery cases across multiple surgical specialties including general, OB/GYN, urology, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, cardiovascular, and bariatrics
• Pull, prep, set up, clean, and turn over OR rooms using a preference card system
• Operate and manage surgical equipment including arthroscopic pumps and shavers, cautery machines, laser, fracture table, and C-arm X-ray
• Document patient care using Epic computerized charting; access medications via the Pyxis system
• Maintain strong organizational and note-taking practices throughout all surgical procedures
• Float within the peri-operative department as needed, including Patient Center (pre-op, post-op, outpatient infusions, dressing changes) and PACU

Required Qualifications

• Active South Dakota RN License required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience
• Must live within 80 miles of the facility to be eligible for this local placement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication management systems
• Familiarity with a broad range of surgical specialties and OR equipment
