Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic CT and X-ray imaging across multiple patient-care settings, including:
    • Ambulatory
    • Clinic
    • Outpatient
    • Inpatient
    • Emergency Department
    • Operating Room
  • Perform a wide range of CT examinations, with strong emphasis on CT over mammography experience.
  • Perform CTA studies, including stroke-related imaging, as the facility is a stroke-designated hospital.
  • Perform routine and emergency X-ray examinations for medical, surgical, orthopedic, and trauma patients.
  • Assist with imaging for trauma patients, including patients involved in highway-related accidents.
  • Perform orthopedic imaging and support various joint imaging procedures.
  • Assist with C-arm procedures in surgery, including emergent cases.
  • Provide imaging support for biopsies and injections when assigned.
  • Maintain proper patient positioning, radiation safety, image quality, and patient-care standards.
  • Operate Siemens CT and X-ray equipment and other department-specific imaging equipment safely and effectively.
  • Work with the facility's Siemens 128-slice CT scanner, Siemens Ysio X-ray, Siemens MIRA portable, GE OEC C-arm, and Hologic Mini-C.
  • Review images for quality and ensure appropriate protocols are followed.
  • Utilize EPIC EMR and McKesson PACS for documentation, image management, and workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide compassionate care and clear communication to patients during imaging procedures.
  • Be willing to receive training and assist with additional radiology services as needed.
  • Maintain flexibility in a busy and demanding environment with a high-volume ER and clinic.
  • Follow radiation safety, infection-control, patient-safety, and facility policies.

Requirements Current ARRT(R) certification required. CT certification/ARRT(CT) required. BLS certification required. Strong CT experience is required; CT experience should be stronger than mammography experience. Solid X-ray and CT knowledge and technical skills required. Experience with CTA studies preferred. Experience with trauma imaging preferred. Experience with C-arm use in the OR/emergency surgical cases preferred. Must be comfortable working across ambulatory, clinic, outpatient, inpatient, ER, and OR settings. Must be willing to assist with radiology injections/biopsies if needed; training will be provided. Strong communication skills and willingness to learn are important for success in this department. Must be dependable, helpful, adaptable, and willing to work in a busy environment. Must be willing to work 8- or 10-hour shifts, depending on department needs. Must be available for every 3rd or 4th weekend. Holiday availability required based on staffing needs. May be required to take overnight call when the department is short-staffed; no call when adequately staffed. Typical department orientation is approximately 1 week. Must comply with the 50-mile radius rule. Candidate cannot have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the previous 12 months. RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after submission. Affiliate must already have an account registered to run the MN NetStudy before submitting the candidate. License to submit: No.
