Job Title: Aircraft Component AssemblerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Component Assembler with experience in basic sheet metal, riveting, assembly methods, and common shop practices. This role involves assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies per customer requirements. The position also requires identifying nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to meet quality requirements.
  • Complete required data gathering to facilitate assembly progress.
  • Set up and operate various shop equipment, such as squeezes and precision measuring tools, including drill motors and countersink cutters.
  • Troubleshoot problems and continually look for process improvements.
  • Perform any required rework or changes during the assembly process.
  • Assemble major components of sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and smaller bench work assemblies.
  • Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or GED, or one to two years of related experience/training.
  • Experience with sheet metal and complex assembly.
  • 2-5 years of structures experience.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Verbal communication skills regarding work processes.
  • Ability to write and record process information.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Six months of vocational training.
  • Experience with equipment such as forklift, drill press, floor-mounted rivet press, and overhead crane.
  • Time management skills.
  • Prefer experience with Spirit, Boeing, Textron, or Cessna.

Work Environment

The work environment is a climate-controlled area where employees are expected to wear steel toe boots. The role involves working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to vibration, and occasionally to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually loud. The position is full-time, offering first shift hours from 6am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime available on weekends. Second shift hours are 2pm-12:30am, Monday through Thursday, with additional hours on Friday and Saturday if needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
