The Department of Corrections is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 who enjoys keeping daily operations organized and efficient. This position allows you to support staff at SCI Huntingdon by managing calls, preparing documents, and coordinating office tasks. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports daily office operations by handling communication tasks, preparing documents, and maintaining records that help the institution function effectively.
As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Phone Support: Answer, make, and direct calls while recording and distributing messages
- Mail Processing: Receive, sort, and distribute mail and prepare outgoing packages
- Document Preparation: Type, review, correct, and distribute documents and correspondence
- Scheduling Coordination: Organize appointments, meetings, and videoconferences and prepare meeting minutes if needed
- Record Maintenance: Maintain filing systems, databases, reports, and spreadsheets
- Office Workflow Support: Compile office activity records, check data, track supplies, and complete general office tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
