DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position manages time and payroll records, serves as a primary contact for time and payroll issues, and provides clerical and office support. It helps ensure data is recorded accurately so that employees are paid and compensated correctly. As a County Office Timekeeper, you will perform the following duties:
- Issue Resolution: Research time and payroll issues, ensure corrections are made and all signatures are on the payrolls, and resolve discrepancies
- Leave Balance Tracking: Monitor employee leave usage and balances, verify that changes comply with requirements, and enter leave data as needed
- Report Preparation: Generate, research, and monitor a variety of reports for leave usage and accrual, payroll, and errors
- Process Documentation: Collect, review, and verify documentation for approved work schedule changes and a variety attendance related matters
- Employee Guidance: Provide explanations and training on time and payroll rules, policies, and procedures
- Clerical and Office Support: Type, file, and process documents; answer the phone and take messages; and assist with other daily office operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
- This position requires the ability to take and transcribe dictation.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
