Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, organizational, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient PC skills, including Internet, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Teams, etc.); demonstrated coaching skills; and visual and auditory skills. Working Conditions: Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less; drive a motor vehicle requiring a valid driver’s license; operating heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment; work at elevated heights or in confined spaces and handle hazardous, volatile, or flammable materials.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related position preferred.
General ResponsibilitiesThe Environmental Health and Safety Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the Company; coordinating work and communication within the department, as well as within other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.This position is classified as safety sensitive. Successful candidates must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including the company’s drug- and alcohol-free workplace requirements. Individuals in this role are subject to pre-employment, random, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, consistent with applicable law and company policy. Violations of these policies may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Essential Duties
- Performs a variety of duties to support the Company as follows: (assist Director of EHS)
- Investigate accidents/incidents. Go to incident location, investigate cause, take photos, document all details, complete proper reporting, meet with rig personnel and follow up with insurance company.
- Perform on-site safety inspections and observations by conducting random inspections in the field.
- Attend mandatory safety meetings and communicate pertinent information to management and employees.
- Issue safety equipment to employees.
- Review, record, and update training records, permits, etc. using formulas and spreadsheets as well as other databases.
- Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
- Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
- Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
- Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
