Lead Operator

Are you a natural leader who loves being at the center of the action, someone that doesn't mind getting their hands dirty?
We are looking for a Lead Operator to captain our daily operations.
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the mobile equipment and all production equipment on Site. It will also require supervision of all personnel on site engaged in operation of the equipment. This person will also participate in site cleanup, loading and unloading of trucks, general maintenance, and other duties. This position will ensure provide breaks to all other operators during shift.
What you'll do as our Control Room Operator:
Supervising 3 person crew,
- Operate the production equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Understand and follow directions from managers.
- Operate equipment consistent with all guidelines & applicable laws. DEP compliance, OSHA compliance, and other State and Government agency compliant operation.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment.
- Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the equipment.
- Site clean up
- General plant maintenance during operations and downtime. This person is the lead for fixing/repairing equipment during operation of the plant.
- Provide production summary, downtime summary, and clear operator logs at end of each shift
- Supervise and train other employees at all jobs in the plant.
- Other tasks not mentioned above as required.
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program
- Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections
- TEAMWORK
HS Diploma or GED Required
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a wood production facility
- 1 to 2 years’ experience operating manufacturing equipment from a control system.
- Knowledge of forklifts, loaders, and other heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of wood handling processes and industry requirements.
- Understanding of computerized controls and electronics.
