Radiologic Technologist - Rotating Shift Job Description
The Radiologic Technologist independently performs imaging procedures, utilizing prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role requires a high degree of technical skill, judgment, and initiative.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for interventional procedures.
- Exhibit a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations, and patient monitoring systems.
- Support other departments by performing general radiographic procedures as needed.
- Foster an environment that supports aseptic technique and patient safety during procedures.
- Administer contrast in accordance with assigned protocols under the proceduralist's direction.
- Interact with patients and co-workers, displaying a high level of caring, dedication, and respect.
- Effectively communicate instructions and explain procedures to patients to alleviate fears and ensure cooperation.
- Identify patients using two unique identifiers and utilize universal protocol during procedures.
- Review patient histories and physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal outcomes.
- Document patient history in electronic records as required.
- Ensure proper coding, tracking, and archiving of exams within the area of responsibility.
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.
- 2 years of experience is required.
- ARRT Certification or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- State licenses as per PA, NY, and MD regulations (Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73).
This position involves a rotating shift of 10 hours per day, 4 days per week.
Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.
