Job Title: CNC MachinistJob Description

This role focuses on machining precision parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines in a high-quality, standards-driven environment. You will interpret complex blueprints and engineering plans, apply advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and work with a variety of CNC and manual machines to produce components that meet strict specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to machine precision parts according to specifications.
  • Work from blueprints, engineering plans, materials lists, specifications, orthographic drawings, and machining parameters to determine the most efficient machining process.
  • Interpret and apply geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to ensure parts meet dimensional and tolerance requirements.
  • Use G&M coding to program CNC equipment and adjust programs as needed to optimize performance and quality.
  • Operate CNC lathes, mills, and manual machines, including manual lathes and manual mills, to perform a variety of machining operations.
  • Utilize Fanuc, Tosnuc, and Mazatrol controls to set up and run CNC machines accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform boring and other precision machining operations to produce components to exact specifications.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings to plan and execute machining tasks.
  • Operate equipment safely and perform preventative maintenance as needed to ensure machines remain in optimal working condition.
  • Adhere to ISO and AS 9100 standards and follow all established quality procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor machining operations, inspect finished parts, and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Collaborate with team members and engineering personnel to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using G&M coding for CNC programming.
  • Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes and CNC mills.
  • Experience with manual machining, including manual lathes and manual mills.
  • Proficiency with Fanuc controls.
  • Experience with Tosnuc controls.
  • Experience using Mazatrol controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Ability to work with orthographic drawings, engineering plans, and detailed machining parameters.
  • Experience operating Haas CNC machines.
  • Experience with machining operations using various CNC machines in a production or job shop environment.
  • Ability to adhere to ISO and AS 9100 standards and quality procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating Hurco, Toshiba, and Shibaura machines.
  • Familiarity with both 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines.
  • Comfort working with a variety of materials and machining setups.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance on machining equipment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
