Job Title: Lab Admin Support

Job Description

This Lab Admin role offers a hands-on opportunity in a fast-paced laboratory support environment that combines front desk customer service, data entry, and shipping and receiving activities. You will help ensure that laboratory samples are processed smoothly, supplies are prepared and organized for customers, and shipments are handled accurately and on time. The position is ideal for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, organized, and motivated, who enjoys multitasking and takes pride in delivering excellent service while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with their laboratory samples, providing clear information and answering questions in a professional and courteous manner at the front desk.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by supporting visitors, responding to inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the sample handling process.
  • Perform accurate data entry of sample information and related details, and maintain organized and up-to-date records in the laboratory systems.
  • Handle basic administrative support tasks related to sample intake, documentation, and communication as needed.
  • Receive and unload pallets and incoming shipments, ensuring materials are checked, accounted for, and moved to the appropriate areas.
  • Stock supplies and maintain an organized work area, ensuring that inventory such as sample bottles and related materials are readily available for customer use.
  • Prepare sample bottles for customer use, including labeling, organizing, and arranging them for shipment or pickup.
  • Receive, prepare, clean, and package ice coolers for shipment, making sure they are properly assembled and ready for transport.
  • Complete shipping and receiving tasks accurately and on schedule, including preparing shipments for sample testing, handling coolers, and coordinating outgoing and incoming materials.
  • Follow established company procedures, safety guidelines, and laboratory support protocols to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced setting, managing multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support other operational and laboratory support duties as needed to ensure smooth daily operations and strong overall service to customers.

  • Comfort with hands-on work, including handling coolers, preparing bottles, and managing physical shipping and receiving tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service, front desk, administrative support, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, or laboratory support is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with sample testing processes or an understanding of laboratory samples is a plus.
  • Experience in a busy, fast-paced environment where multitasking and prioritization are important is beneficial.
  • Interest in long-term, contract-to-hire opportunities in a laboratory support setting.
  • Strong motivation to provide accurate work and high-quality customer service.

Work Environment

The role is based in a fast-paced sample testing laboratory support environment that combines front desk interaction, administrative tasks, and physical work in shipping and receiving areas. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. You will work with computers and data entry systems, laboratory sample bottles, pallets, ice coolers, and other shipping materials. The work involves both desk-based tasks and physical activities such as lifting, moving, and preparing coolers and supplies. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to established procedures, and teamwork, and is well suited to someone who enjoys staying active, interacting with customers, and contributing to smooth daily operations in a busy setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Stockton, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
