Job Description
This is a seasonal door-to-door sales position with Moxie Pest Control for summer 2027. You relocate to an out-of-state market with a small team, sell residential pest control services to homeowners, and work April through the end of August. Pay is commission only.
Details
- Dates: April through the end of August 2027. Start dates can shift a little for finals.
- Location: out-of-state market, assigned by team before the season.
- Housing: handled. The team lines up housing together before the season and you get a housing bonus on top of commission to cover it, so you're not looking for a place or paying out of pocket to get started.
- Pay: 100% commission with no base. First-summer reps on this team typically earn between $4,000 and $12,000 per month. I'll go through last summer's actual numbers with you on the phone.
- Schedule: Monday through Saturday. Sundays off.
- Training: pre-season training in Utah from January through March, mostly evenings and weekends. Daily training continues through the summer.
- Team: you report to me and work alongside three team leaders who have each done several summers.
What the job is
- Knocking doors and talking with homeowners about pest control
- Explaining the service, answering questions, and signing up customers who want it
- Tracking your numbers daily and reviewing them with the team
- Representing the company honestly in every conversation
Who it fits
- Ages 18 to 26, free from April through August, usually a college student or a returned missionary
- Competitive, coachable, and able to handle rejection without taking it home
- Prior sales experience is not required. Most people on the team started with none.
Who it doesn't fit
- Anyone who needs an hourly wage
- Anyone who can't relocate for the season or can only do part of it
Common questions
- Is it really commission only? Yes.
- Do I need a car? It helps but isn't required. Teams carpool.
- Can I start in May instead of April? Ask. Full-season reps earn more, but we'll talk through it.
- When do I need to decide? We're interviewing now and the team is usually full by March.
