Your Role
Do you enjoy new challenges, building strong customer relationships, and helping growers succeed? We are expanding our Ornamentals team in Florida and are looking for a Technical Sales Consultant to drive territory growth and deliver exceptional customer support.
Based in Florida, you will be responsible for developing and growing sales across one of the nation’s most diverse year-round growing regions, including greenhouse, nursery, and ornamental production. In this role, you will promote the value of Koppert’s biological crop protection solutions by providing technical expertise, developing customized grower programs, and serving as a trusted partner to customers. You will manage territory development, sales, and service through a combination of remote work, on-site customer visits, and regional travel.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide growers with sustainable crop protection practices utilizing Koppert’s comprehensive portfolio of natural products.
- Cultivate and maintain markets in the assigned crops by visiting customers, attending trade shows, networking, and lead generation.
- Support and develop customer relationships to gain a deep understanding of grower needs and agronomic strategies for the territory.
- Expand grower’s success in crop protection by developing and implementing personalized integrated pest management (IPM) strategies in crops.
- Achieve sales targets and manage accurate forecasting in designated territory.
- Own the full sales cycle in the territory, from prospecting and needs assessment through trials, proposals, closing, and ongoing account growth.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities in agriculture crops.
- Expand market portfolio by utilizing all Koppert resources to turn prospects into customers.
- Communicate effectively with growers, farm managers, and field crews, including Spanish-speaking teams, to support adoption and correct use of biological programs.
- Participate in the development and launch of upcoming Koppert portfolio innovations.
Skills and Qualifications
- Dedicated passion for integrated pest management strategies in horticulture.
- Proven sales track record, including successful territory development, new business acquisition, and achieving sales growth.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and collaboration skills, with a solution-oriented approach to building relationships and resolving challenges.
- Ability to listen, ask good questions, and develop trust in your relationships with customers and peers.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both written and verbal.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written) strongly preferred.
- Ability to write both technically and commercially.
- Ability to work harmoniously with other departments within the Koppert family.
- Strong computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Education and Experience
- Associates degree or higher in horticulture or agricultural-related field preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional sales experience required (B2B or field sales); sales experience in agriculture, horticulture, crop protection, or crop inputs strongly preferred.
- Experience in the agriculture/horticulture market as a grower or IPM staff member is required.
- Knowledge of Florida growing systems, crops, pest pressures, and chemical pesticides preferred.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work with autonomy and willing to travel for business (50%+).
- Work remotely out of home office, hotel, and company vehicle.
- Frequent amount of commercial travel to visit customers, trade shows, and company meetings.
- Regular exposure to field weather conditions in crops.
- Regular exposure to hot and humid greenhouse conditions while on technical visits.
- Regular exposure to insects and bees.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to regularly stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to travel (air and ground).
- Ability to regularly maneuver in and out of greenhouse and field environments.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments from customer visits and fast-paced activities.
