Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting with at least 2 years of service line experience required.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within the PT department
- Shift options include 5x8 Monday-Friday with weekend rotation or 4x10 Saturday-Tuesday
- Day shift schedule, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Patient population includes cardiopulmonary, geriatric, neurologic, and orthopedic cases
- Treats conditions such as COPD, CHF, MI, PVD, stroke, Parkinson's, dementia, and various orthopedic injuries
- Uses Allscripts charting system; Altera experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the service line required
- BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in patient assessment, including AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, vital sign monitoring, and skin integrity checks
- Experience with adaptive devices, assistive devices, and equipment such as Hoyer lifts, gait belts, and wheelchairs
- Proficient in documentation including evaluations, care plans, short and long term goals, and reassessments
- Knowledge of gait training, prosthetic training, and post-op rehabilitation protocols
- Strong time management and patient/family education skills
Additional Information
- Main responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, and discharge coordination
- Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for positive results
- Candidates must complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the offer or have a documented plan for timely completion
- Returning staff must have a 1-year gap since last employment with the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate
- Travel experience preferred but not required, and first-time travelers may be considered
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility to meet local radius requirements
