Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting requiring 2+ years of experience in the service line.
Details
- Acute Care Hospital unit
- 13-week assignment with day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM-4:00 PM)
- Schedule may be 5x8s Monday-Friday with weekend rotation or 4x10s Saturday-Tuesday
- Charting system experience required with Allscripts
- Patient population includes cardiopulmonary, orthopedic, neurologic, and geriatric cases
- Treats conditions such as COPD, CHF, post-stroke rehabilitation, joint replacements, and amputations
Requirements
- Active PT license required if applicable
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the acute care service line
- Allscripts charting experience required
- Experience with adaptive devices, gait training, and wheelchair assessment required
- Knowledge of cardiopulmonary, neurologic, and orthopedic patient populations required
- Skilled in documentation including evaluations, plans of care, and reassessments
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, and discharge documentation for acute care patients
- Modules are completed during orientation and average 6-8 hours, non-billable
- Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, and candidates must remain clear of any substances that could result in a positive test prior to arrival
- Clinicians must complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or have a plan in place for completion
- Hard document due date is Thursday at 2:00 PM CST prior to start, with some flexibility case-by-case
- Travel experience preferred but not required
- Previous staff members must have a one-year gap before returning as a traveler
- Local radius rule: Allied candidates must reside within 50 miles and local candidates are not accepted
- Community hospital experience preferred
