Skilled Backhoe Operator - Underground Utilities

We are currently hiring a skilled and properly trained Backhoe Operator for an active school construction project in Fontana, CA. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience operating a backhoe in underground utility construction and be confident performing precision excavation in an active commercial construction environment.

Responsibilities

•

Safely and efficiently operate a backhoe and other heavy equipment

•

Perform precision excavation for underground utility installation

•

Excavate trenches for water, sewer, storm drain, electrical conduit, and other underground utilities

•

Safely dig around existing underground utilities

•

Maintain proper trench grades, depths, and slopes according to plans and specifications

•

Assist pipe crews and underground utility crews as needed

•

Load, move, and place soil and construction materials

•

Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues

•

Follow all OSHA, site-specific, and project safety requirements

•

Maintain a clean and safe work area

Required Qualifications

•

Must be a skilled and trained Backhoe Operator

•

3+ years of professional backhoe operating experience preferred

•

Underground utility experience required

•

Must be experienced with precision digging and trench excavation

•

Must be capable of safely operating equipment around existing utilities

•

Commercial construction experience preferred

•

Ability to read and understand basic utility plans, elevations, and grades

•

Strong understanding of construction-site safety procedures

•

Reliable transportation and dependable attendance

•

Must be able to work outdoors and perform physical job-site duties when needed

Important

This position is for an experienced, skilled, and trained operator. Candidates without professional backhoe operating experience or underground utility experience will not be considered.

Schedule

•

Full-time, Monday–Friday

•

Overtime may be available based on project needs

•

Must be willing to work the project's scheduled hours
