Position Summary

The Production Leadership Trainee is a career-development position designed to develop future production leaders within TRILAD.

The individual will receive hands-on training in TRILAD's manufacturing processes and progressively learn to operate and become proficient in production equipment, including CNC machines, manual machines, and welding processes.

As the individual develops technical expertise, leadership skills, and an understanding of TRILAD's production processes, they will take on increasing levels of responsibility with the goal of progressing into production leadership and ultimately managing a production operation.

Essential Responsibilities

• Learn and become proficient in the operation of CNC, manual machining, welding, and other production equipment.
• Develop a strong understanding of TRILAD's manufacturing processes, products, equipment, and quality requirements.
• Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Learn to read and understand drawings, specifications, work instructions, and production requirements.
• Develop the ability to identify and troubleshoot production and equipment issues.
• Learn production planning, scheduling, workflow, and resource requirements.
• Develop an understanding of production performance, productivity, quality, scrap, downtime, and other key metrics.
• Work with experienced machinists, welders, supervisors, and managers to develop technical and leadership skills.
• Progress from learning and operating equipment to taking responsibility for production activities and teams.
• Develop the ability to train, coach, and lead production employees.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Take on increasing responsibility as technical knowledge and leadership capability develop.

Career Progression

Production Leadership Trainee → Production Machinist → Production Supervisor → Department Manager → Production Manager

Progression will be based on demonstrated technical ability, safety and quality performance, leadership, problem-solving, productivity, and the ability to successfully manage increasing levels of responsibility.

The long-term goal is to develop individuals who understand TRILAD's manufacturing processes from the equipment level through production management and are prepared to lead people, equipment, processes, and production results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school, machining, welding, manufacturing, or related education preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred but not required.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in learning manufacturing equipment.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Willingness to take on increasing responsibility and develop into a production leader.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC or manual machining equipment.
• Welding experience or training.
• Experience reading engineering drawings or blueprints.
• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience.
• Desire to build a long-term career in manufacturing and production leadership.
