Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description

This role focuses on performing detailed quality inspections on incoming and outgoing aerospace parts, raw materials, and related documentation in accordance with FAA guidelines. You will assemble component kits, verify that parts conform to engineering prints using precision measuring tools, and accurately document all inspection activities in SAP and other systems. The position blends hands-on inspection work with computer-based documentation to ensure that every part shipped meets strict aerospace quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing parts, articles, materials, and documents to ensure compliance with FAA guidelines and applicable aerospace standards.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing raw materials to verify quality and conformity to specifications.
  • Assemble component kits by accurately organizing and packaging parts according to work instructions and documentation.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools to verify that parts match engineering prints and dimensional requirements.
  • Perform high-volume inspections, handling up to approximately 200 parts per day while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Identify nonconforming parts and materials, document discrepancies, and prepare clear, thorough nonconformance or discrepancy reports.
  • Work with aircraft and aerospace parts, ensuring they meet industry and regulatory requirements before release.
  • Track and maintain shipments using SAP, ensuring all movements and status changes are accurately recorded.
  • Scan, file, and manage quality documentation, including inspection records and release certificates, in electronic and physical formats.
  • Use computer systems to enter inspection results, update records, and support quality control and quality assurance activities.
  • Support and participate in audits, including FAA-related audits, by providing documentation and explaining inspection processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with inbound and outbound teams in a warehouse environment to ensure timely and compliant processing of parts and materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow established quality, safety, and documentation procedures at all times.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience performing aerospace-specific quality inspections.
  • Hands-on experience with quality control, quality assurance, and inspection activities in an aerospace environment.
  • Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and technical drawings.
  • Experience working with aircraft and aerospace parts and understanding of industry-standard parts and specifications.
  • Ability to inspect and verify parts and documentation against FAA guidelines and standards.
  • Strong documentation skills, including writing clear nonconformance reports and maintaining accurate inspection records.
  • Comfort using computers for documentation, data entry, and working within quality systems.
  • Experience with or exposure to FAA audits and related regulatory requirements.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage high inspection volumes while maintaining accuracy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Current appointment as an FAA-ODAR and Cat-8 inspector, with experience working with Authorized Release Certificates.
  • Knowledge of national aerospace standards (NAS) and Air Force-Navy Aeronautical Standards (AN).
  • Experience with Transport Canada regulations.
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in quality roles is a strong plus.
  • Experience using SAP for tracking and maintaining shipments and quality-related data.
  • A&P License is not required but is considered a significant plus.
  • Familiarity with audits and regulatory inspections in an aerospace environment.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to work efficiently with digital documentation and quality systems.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse environment at a dedicated workstation where you will verify documents and ensure they meet FAA standards. The work is approximately 50% hands-on quality inspection and 50% documentation and computer-based tasks. You will primarily sit or stand in one place while performing inspections and documentation. The warehouse can become very warm when outside temperatures are high, so you should be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled setting. The role operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with an initial 40-hour workweek and additional availability expected after 23 months of training. You will work within a department of about 40 people, organized into inbound and outbound teams, in a structured, process-driven environment focused on regulatory compliance and quality.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
