Machine Set-Up / Molding Operator

We are looking for a reliable and mechanically minded Machine Set-Up / Molding Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for setting up and operating molding equipment, making machine adjustments, monitoring product quality, and keeping production on schedule.

What You’ll Do

As a Machine Set-Up / Molding Operator, you will:

• Set up molding machines for production runs
• Position, preheat, and change mold bases
• Purge machines to remove foreign material and prepare equipment for production
• Make initial machine adjustments to ensure proper operation
• Operate and monitor molding equipment throughout the production process
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards
• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Monitor production schedules and help keep orders on track
• Complete secondary operations such as:
• • O-ringing
  • Skiving
  • Stamping
  • Gate clipping
  • Part inspection
• Accurately record production information, completed orders, rejects, reclaim materials, and hours worked
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all company safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions, injuries, or near misses
• Participate in team improvement initiatives and provide ideas for improving safety, quality, and productivity
• Perform other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or 3–4 years of related machine operation or manufacturing experience/training
• Previous machine operation, molding, manufacturing, or mechanical experience is a plus
• Ability to read and understand:
• • Blueprints
  • Work orders
  • Equipment operating manuals
  • Written and verbal instructions
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, rates, ratios, and percentages
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and use good judgment when making adjustments
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
• Willingness to work overtime when production demands require it

Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing position in an industrial environment. Employees may regularly work around moving mechanical equipment and may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, heat, vibration, and electrical hazards.

The work environment can be loud, and appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be followed.
