Job Title: Visual Inspector
Job Description
As a Visual Inspector, you serve as the final quality checkpoint before products leave the production floor, ensuring every part meets strict standards for appearance, dimensions, and performance. You work closely with production teams to fine-tune processes, uphold quality expectations, and help deliver work that reflects pride, precision, and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Inspect fabricated metal parts and finished products using visual checks and precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Compare dimensions, finishes, and tolerances against blueprints, prints, and work orders to verify compliance with specifications.
- Approve parts that meet quality standards, identify items requiring rework, and verify that corrective actions are completed accurately.
- Accurately document inspection results in logs, reports, and quality systems to maintain clear and traceable records.
- Maintain, calibrate, and care for inspection and measuring equipment to ensure reliable and precise readings.
- Identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve efficiency, product quality, and inspection processes.
- Partner with production teams to reinforce quality standards, share best practices, and support continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve quality concerns quickly and professionally, helping prevent defects from reaching customers.
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 4 years of inspection experience or equivalent hands-on training and experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to perform visual inspection and quality control on fabricated metal parts and finished products.
- Strong attention to detail with solid problem-solving skills and the ability to spot small defects and inconsistencies.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and work orders to understand dimensional and tolerance requirements.
- Hands-on experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Comfort with basic computer use, including email, data entry, and web-based systems for recording inspection data.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Frequent use of hands for measuring and inspecting parts, with occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, or stooping.
- Strong visual acuity, including close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing or production environment..
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to recognize patterns in defects and suggest practical improvements to processes or standards.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, hands-on environments with changing priorities.

Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
